I so much wanted to give 5 stars, but the room was let down by the bed, very hard. The room was warm, so needed the door open, Dan would have been nice. Apart from the above, the staff were lovely, really friendly and helpful. The breakfast was fantastic, really good quality. The bedroom itself was good. We saw a report somewhere about room 14 being too small and couldn't get past each other. I think that person had a relationship problem, I have no problem being close to my wife! It was clean & we had a lovely balcony which we were able to enjoy.

Stayed for 2 nights. Tv small. Breakfast 1st day good but 2nd day was disappointing-my poached eggs were poor, yolk was cooked but white runny! No checkback so couldn't change. I did mention on checkout & was give n 2 cans of pop. On the positives: parking spot allocated, good shower & seafront location. Overall bit pricey

My husband & I have just spent 4 nights here and it was lovely. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful and we’ve never stayed in any hotel (high-end hotels included) where we’ve had food which equals the standard of this hotel. The owners, I believe, have the Kingswood next door and the Dukes, all delivering the same calibre of fabulous food, and we hope to be back here in June to sample their delicious fare again!! Thank you. Mr & Mrs Woodcock

Had a lovely stay here, booked myself a room as I was walking part of the Jurrasic. Left car and got a lift back to start in Budleigh. The hotel gave me a parking space and I could arrange an early check in. I had a stunning walk despite the ropey weather and arrived to this gem of a hotel, room overlooking the seafront. Got pizza from a lovely little Delhi in town and sat and enjoyed toasting the massive hill I climbed earlier in the day. What a treat! Bed is extremely comfy, room spotless, pod coffee...all in all a wonderful stay.

There is never a place, in any world, where this pizza is Neapolitan. It was just a homemade pizza, with an unfermented dough (based on the taste), with too much cheese, there is no way they are using San Marzano tomatoes (unless they are adding other tomatoes to it as well) and then topped it with a relatively basic pepperoni that could have literally been sourced from Tesco. To be fair, there’s nothing wrong with any of this. The pizza tasted nice and any pizza is better than no pizza. The sole issue is claiming it is Neapolitan. That being said the wait staff, front desk staff, and cleaners were all very pleasant, helpful and efficient. The space is very nice. The view and location are lovely. The rooms are clean and light filled.

Lovely staff, very helpful. Food delicious and very modern inside even though you wouldn't think that from the outside (it is right on the sea front ) it even had a lift. Lovely room, comfy bed, lovely sea view only things we noticed were lamp shade dusty (we're asthmatic) and shower leaked when used but reported so prob fixed by now. They loaned us a fan to. Would definitely stay again and very happy.
